
Deputy Minister of Social Development and of Health Veronika Skvortsova presented in the government report for the outgoing year. In particular, Skvortsov has statistics on mortality from poisonings defective alcohol. For the current year mortality from the "scorched" production decreased by about thirty percent. In addition, Skvortsov, gives the following figures: in the first nine months of 2011 decreased alcohol consumption per capita. Last year the number of alcoholics in Russia exceeded all limits in comparison with other countries, then this year it fell by seven percent.
The Deputy Minister noted that mortality from other diseases also declined this year by eleven percent. In general, the number of deaths has decreased in many diseases. For example, the number of deaths from coronary syndrome and heart attacks decreased by 5.6 percent, and from stroke - at twelve. According to Skvortsova, Russians began to drink less after the adoption of a special program aimed at combating alcoholism. Residents of the Russian Federation began to buy less defective alcohol. Last year the consumption of alcoholic beverages in Russia amounted to about 15 liters per capita, in 2011 rates begin to decline noticeably. I would like to recall that not so long ago, the WHO released a report stating that the threat to human life is drinking eight liters of pure alcohol per year.
