The risk of heart disease depends on blood group

The risk of developing heart disease and blood vessel depends on the blood group, said American doctors. In the long-term study involved 90 000 people. After analyzing the frequency of strokes that have happened to participants during the experiment, the scientists found that men and women from the 4th (AB) blood group faced with the disease by 26% more likely than those with 1-D (O) group. A female with a 3-D (B) a group of risk above 15%.

Scientists explain this relationship that depends on the blood group proteins, which are located on the surface of red blood cells. Red blood cells accumulate in the blood vessels to a greater or lesser extent, that affects the risk of blood clots.
However, blood group - is not such an influential factor, such as smoking, lack of physical activity and alcohol abuse, experts stress.
